Firetec® are pleased to announce the successful completion of a 4 year development and testing programme for a high temperature version of the well known red tube.The new, high temperature tube, has been designated by Firetec®, as ‘Reacton™ 108’ to distinguish it from the red tube still common to, and interchangeable between, Firetrace and Firetec®. The standard red tube will continue to be available from Firetec® as Reacton™ 80.
Reacton™ 108 is able to withstand ambient temperatures that are some 30°C higher than that for the standard 6 mm (6.10 mm ± 0.10 mm OD / 4.00 mm ID) red tubes.
The dimensions of Reacton™ 108 are the same as those for Reacton™ 80 so that no new components are required for it’s use. The 6.00 mm tubes, Reacton™ 80, Reacton™ 108 and Firetrace, remain fully interchangeable. The response characteristics of Reacton™ 80 and Reacton™ 108, differ only in their resistance to ambient temperature.
As with the red tube, the new high temperature Reacton™ 108 tube will be available from Firetec® to all dealers and equipment manufacturers that incorporate melt tube technology into their own branded products. This allows both Firetec® and Firetrace distributors to offer customers a choice.
